About Us

 He began painting as a child by replicating his father’s drawings in Pretoria. Watercolours and pastels quickly became his favourite mediums due to their smooth tones and delicate textures. In addition to studying arts at Music Art and Ballet School Pretoria  (1972 – Pro-Arte School today) , he also worked as a professional photographer for a newspaper.  Throughout his life, Nellis has been a gifted photographer and a talented artist. Due to his failing vision, he was unable to pursue his photography and art passions.  Several years ago, he underwent a retina operation and regained vision in his right eye. It required him to learn a whole new drawing method and style. As he learns, he improves his new style. He is very passionate about drawing.
